In A FREE MAN'S MIND Lowell is an
original --- and yet at home in, and true to each musical genre.
A fine composer, arranger and a creative producer, his total music
entertains you with surprise treats, springing from his free-flying
guitar musicianship and lyrics, augmented by inspired perfomances
and harmonies from some great "Nashville Cats."
This unique stylist's new CD includes 8
originals, along with a driving version of the great Jim Webb
composition, Galveston, first made famous by Glen Campbell.
The wide ranging album includes the powerful and patriotic, slow
rock anthem, A Patriot Heart (and a Free Man's Mind), the
Southern-rock beat of The Rain Was Fallin', the R&B blues
I Don't Want to Know, the "hard core Bakersfield" country
of What if They Close Down All the Honky-Tonks, the folk-rocking
Rocky Mountain Fever, the pop ballad Heartbreak Boulevard,
the West coast country-rock trucker story, Pointed in the Right
Direction, and the delightful Nashville sound of Christmas
Truckin' Time.
The final song is Lowell's inspired solo
guitar and vocal rendition of The Star Spangled Banner
(at the suggestion of Cong. Dana Rohrabacher, R. CA)
A FREE MAN'S MIND is a changing
journey, simultaneously subtle, SO HOT and SO COOL!
